Kage by Chirp: First-ever DePIN P2E Game with Real-World Utility on Sui
Pokémon Go is widely considered one of the most popular games of all time. Since its launch in 2016, the augmented reality game has been downloaded more than a billion times and amassed a whopping $6 billion in revenue by 2023. But, as we recently learned, unbeknown to its players, it has been quietly collecting geolocation data to feed into its AI models.
Did anyone ask the players for their permission? And are they getting even a fraction of the $6 billion in their pockets as rewards? We all know the answer to these questions. It’s time to change this and make your data work for you.
We’re excited to introduce Kage — Web3’s solution to corporate gaming giants like Pokémon Go stealing your data. Kage is the first DePIN Play-to-Earn game with real-world utility that rewards YOU for helping to create the biggest global geolocation database!
Revolutionizing Indoor Navigation: Play with Purpose, Create Real-World Value
What sets Kage apart? The real-world utility it delivers.
We live in a world surrounded by billions of stationary wireless devices that emit radio signals. These signals can be used as a low-power alternative for geolocating objects, enabling indoor navigation where GPS signals fall short. In fact, the global indoor positioning and navigation market was estimated at USD 20.38 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow at a staggering CAGR of 37.6% from 2024 to 2030.
Here’s where Kage comes into play. It gamifies the process of powering Chirp’s IoT ecosystem by harnessing these wireless signals to create one of the most advanced geolocation databases in the world. It’s not about earning crypto for useless tapping — it’s about earning crypto for contributing to creation of indoor navigation services as a part of Chirp IoT product line.
Navigation apps have been a part of our lives for decades, but as soon as you step indoors, it feels like going back to the 1980s, where you have to pull out a paper map to find your way around. Chirp is here to put an end to that with Kage. Information gathered by the Kage community enables projects to create precise indoor wayfinding applications, making navigation indoors and in tunnels more accurate. This technology allows you to be guided to the exact shelf where your groceries are stocked or navigate through complex indoor spaces with ease. No more wandering aimlessly — Kage is set to make indoor navigation as seamless as it is outdoors.
Engaging Gameplay: Restore Connectivity — Save the Future
In Kage, you step into the shoes of a Data Hunter on a critical mission.
In 2057, the Kernel Cage (Kage) — a quantum tunnel capable of sending data through time was invented. A few decades later a catastrophic event occurred leading to global connectivity collapse with all wireless networks failing and the world plunged into chaos.
Two powerful Alliances emerged: FckWire and Syntech, each with their own vision for restoring order. These Alliances began recruiting Data Hunters from the past to gather critical data needed to rebuild the future. Using Kage technology, hunters collect and transmit wireless signals through time in a process called Proof-Of-Future.
Guided by Murray, an AI from the future, players navigate and unlock the secrets of Kage.
The gameplay is built around real-world actions like walking, biking, or even driving. Imagine turning your daily dog walks or Uber shifts into exciting and rewarding adventures. With just one tap, players start detecting wireless signals from cell towers, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, earning Data Chips — the Kage in-game points. The rewarding mechanism is straightforward: the more Data Chips you collect, the higher your position on the leaderboard, and the bigger your rewards in $CHIRP tokens.
Read Kage detailed guide for more information on scoring system, leaderboard and rewards.
It’s fun, it’s easy, and it rewards you for your efforts — all while delivering real-world utility! And, most importantly, it gives you back the power over the data you collect.
And it doesn’t stop there. With each new release, Kage introduces even more game-like features like an Interactive Map, Missions and Quests, Clan Creation, an Artefact Shop, and more.

Wings of Chronos
The permanent Pokemon Go style challenge Wings of Chronos, sends players on a hunt for rare objects known as Feathers, scattered into the present during an intense shootout between FckWire and Syntech. These Feathers unlock access to encrypted server data and come in two forms: Bluetooth-enabled physical items and NFTs. Data Hunters can earn rewards by locating physical items, while NFTs offer unique in-game bonuses and extra rewards. The campaign begins in Europe and will expand globally, inviting players worldwide to join the mission and reshape the future.
With additional features coming with every new update, Kage players will have a reason to keep coming back, beyond the earnings potential.
A Community-Driven Game
The Pokémon Go story makes it abundantly clear that tech giants are already using your phone to collect geolocation and wireless signal data, but the profits go straight into their pockets. Chirp is turning that model upside down. With Kage, the community collects and benefits from the same kind of data that giants sell through geolocation APIs. We’re giving that power back to the people, allowing you to participate in a trillion-dollar telecom market.
Kage isn’t just a game — it’s a gateway to the future of geolocation, IoT, and decentralized technology. By playing Kage, you’re not just earning rewards; you’re helping to build an ecosystem that will power countless real-world applications.
Join Chirp
If you want to dive even deeper, Chirp offers more opportunities for involvement. For example, by purchasing a Blackbird miner, you can help form the radio network for IoT devices. While there’s a higher barrier to entry, the rewards are significantly larger, allowing you to contribute to and benefit from Chirp’s growing decentralized network.
With Chirp, you can play, mine, or simply hold tokens to benefit from being part of one of the most innovative and comprehensive IoT ecosystems. Chirp provides tailored solutions for individuals and businesses, offering advanced connectivity and IoT capabilities. For Real-World Asset (RWA) projects, Chirp helps accelerate go-to-market strategies by providing ready-made solutions that streamline everything from connectivity to IoT infrastructure.
