Develpment Diary. Edition 10.

Chirp
4 min readApr 10, 2025

We’re back with Dev Diary — and the period since our launch has been all about building tools and features that will power Chirp’s token economy for the long haul.

Let’s break it down and make a short overview of the work the Chirp team has done during this period.

Creating long-term value for $CHIRP

One of the biggest milestones this month has been the introduction of new support mechanisms for $CHIRP, including Data Credits fees, the Locking tool for claiming operations, and the launch of the Lockup Pool, which you can now view on-chain via Suiscan.

Rolling out these tools required close coordination across our tokenomics, blockchain, and design teams. These aren’t just cosmetic updates — they form the backbone of how Chirp’s ecosystem will function in the long run. DCs have been introduced as part of the claim operations, and we’ve now made it easier for users to buy them directly using crypto through third-party services.

IoT Progress Continues

Chirp has continued to expand its Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities by significantly increasing the number of supported devices on its platform. This development marks an important step in Chirp’s mission to build a more connected and responsive digital infrastructure for businesses operating in physical environments. The newly supported devices come from some of the most respected manufacturers in the IoT space, widely recognized for producing reliable, high-performance sensors and tools used across industries. Our hardware team is continuing to develop the toolkit for users integrating Chirp into their IoT operations. Each feature we plan to add and work on is aimed at making Chirp a full-spectrum solution for businesses looking to deploy and manage IoT infrastructure or present a whitelabel solution for projects developing in the IoT sector.

The closest release will bring users of Chirp IoT services a new feature — Notification Center — an improved alerting tool, making managing their IoT infrastructure more seamless. More info will be shared soon.

Website Improvements

We’ve made meaningful improvements to the way new and current users navigate the Chirp landing page. Our main landing page has been updated with fresh content and better structure. We also introduced a dedicated Mining page to give more visibility into how Chirp mining works and what users can expect. The Token page is on the way, and will give even more context to how $CHIRP and DCs function within the ecosystem.

The Explorer section

The Explorer section has also received key upgrades, including the addition of overall Kage data (like total scanned networks) and a new map that visualizes the geography of detected wireless networks — making the scale and reach of the network more tangible for the community.

Chirp Platform Enhancements

Several changes have been rolled out across the user interface to streamline the experience. The platform menu has been redesigned so that the Wallet is now directly accessible from the main navigation. Inside the wallet, you’ll now find clearer breakdowns of claimable vs. current balances, plus a full transaction history.

The Userboard and Mining board have also seen enhancements, making them easier to navigate and use. To support new users, we’ve added an installation video for the Blackbird miner to guide them through setup.

More Tools and Support

We’ve launched a new Bot-helper to assist users in getting the help they need faster and unified all the tooltips on the platform. Additionally, the platform now supports multiple currencies and languages — to help users from different countries navigate the platform more conveniently.

Kage Updates

Kage is steadily moving toward its main release version. We’ve rolled out a fresh update with new missions, and more features are already in development. At the same time, bug fixes and refinements continue to improve the overall player experience.

We have tackled a range of bugs and minor issues related to wallet operations, login flows, claim-related bugs, and more.

A lot of work lies ahead, along with new features and tools. Stay tuned.

Thanks for being on the journey with us.
