Chirp development diary. Edition 8

It’s been a long time since our latest Dev Diary, and today we want to share with you what has been going on behind the scenes and the development progress we’ve made. The Chirp platform has undergone significant enhancements, with updates spanning from user interface improvements to critical bug fixes, all aimed at delivering a smoother, more secure, and user-friendly experience.

Frontend Enhancements and Usability Improvements

White theme for Chirp Platform

One of the most noticeable changes is the introduction of a new white theme, providing users with the option to switch between dark and light modes by simply clicking on their avatar in the sidebar. This addition offers greater flexibility and a personalized user experience. The map interface has also been revamped with a redesigned color scheme to improve readability, making it easier to navigate and understand the displayed information. Sign-in buttons for Google and Apple have been updated to facilitate better interaction during the login process.

In addition, the login page itself has been optimized for faster access, and UI improvements have been made to the connected wallet interface. For those using the mining board, we’ve introduced the ability to view reward coefficients, which helps users understand potential reward losses due to low availability. The reward scrolling feature now allows users to scroll through epochs, enabling them to trace their mining history back to the very beginning.

Device and SIM Card Management

We’ve also made strides in device and SIM card management. A new widget switch on the device page allows users to toggle between main and other data, highlighting the most critical information. For SIM card users, additional parameters have been added to provide more detailed and relevant information about their SIM cards, enhancing overall management capabilities.

Furthermore, a device info block has been added to both the Device and Gateway pages, offering a more comprehensive view of the devices, which simplifies the management process. To maintain a clean and readable map interface, all layers, including device icons, tracks, and rulers, are now erased when switching between light and dark themes.

Rewards, Explorer, and Leaderboard Enhancements

We’ve introduced a scrolling and filtering feature to the Rewards chart, making it easier for users to track and analyze their earnings over time. In the Explorer, the default sorting has been updated to prioritize total earnings for top earners, providing a clearer view of user performance. The leaderboard has also seen improvements, with the addition of device aliases and the removal of the previous highlighting of top positions, resulting in a more streamlined and user-friendly display.

Security and Wallet Management

Security continues to be a top priority for Chirp. We’ve implemented a new feature that requires a signature for wallet removal, increasing the safety of mining operations on the platform. This added layer of security ensures that users’ assets and data are well-protected, particularly as they engage in mining activities.

Critical Bug Fixes

Alongside these new features, we’ve addressed several critical bugs to improve the platform’s stability and reliability. Issues with NFT redemption, such as exceptions during order creation and wallet address input, have been resolved, along with login and logout issues that users were facing.

In addition, verification issues with Ledger devices have been fixed, as have errors with the statistics widgets in the Explorer and the Mining Board’s calculation of potential rewards. Problems related to the map ruler when switching themes, black buttons in the PayPal card payment interface, and the feedback form’s view in the light theme have also been addressed. Furthermore, we’ve improved the process for sending notification emails about personal information changes during widget configuration and resolved unexpected logout issues.

These updates and bug fixes reflect Chirp’s ongoing commitment to refining our platform and ensuring it remains user-centric, secure, and efficient. We’re continuously working to integrate new technologies and enhance user interaction, all while maintaining a high standard of security and reliability. We’re excited to share these developments with you and look forward to bringing you even more improvements in the future as we continue to build the best decentralized telecom network possible.

Thank you for your ongoing support and trust in Chirp.
