It’s been almost two weeks since the launch of the Chirp testnet on the Sui network, and we have almost surpassed 7 Epochs. This means that our Keepers have experienced firsthand the functionality of the reward distribution system within the new Mining board section. Users without miners might have already gotten acquainted with our on-chain crypto explorer and evaluated the level of transparency we’re committed to providing.
However, we’ve noticed many questions related to the testnet period in our Community and in this article, we will shed more light on two main goals of the testnet — seamless and secure mainnet launch and active community involvement with different amazing NFT events, quests, rewards, and airdrops.
Advancing Chirp ecosystem on the road to Mainnet
For seamless and secure launch, we are diligently fine-tuning our backend operations, refining our interfaces and UX, testing, and improving the functionality of Miners, adding and testing new IoT devices. Additionally, we’re evaluating our tokenomics to ensure the optimal distribution of tokens among pools, enhancing the ecosystem’s sustainability and every other nuanced component of the Chirp DePIN Network.
Frontend
On the frontend, we will improve our newly designed Mining Board, which will serve as a comprehensive dashboard for tracking all rewards associated with their miners and wallets. This includes detailed views of epoch progress, predictable payment dates, and wallet transactions, ensuring users have all the necessary information at their fingertips. Additionally, a dedicated Miner Page will provide intricate details regarding the rewards and availability of specific miners, vital for accurately calculating rewards.
Improvements to the Wallet Connection Process are also on the agenda, aimed at simplifying how users interact with the platform, making it more intuitive and user-friendly. The Crypto Explorer will undergo enhancements to offer a more thorough display of rewards, transactions, minted/total token supply, and the progress of the current epoch, reinforcing our commitment to transparency and user empowerment.
Backend
On the backend, our focus will be on refining the interfaces that connect our frontend and blockchain components. This effort is directed at delivering data more effectively for visualization on the Mining Board and Crypto Explorer, ensuring that users have real-time access to the most relevant and up-to-date information. Alongside these improvements, we will be dedicating resources to increase the stability and reliability of all components within our ecosystem. Enhancements in monitoring and alerting mechanisms are also planned, further strengthening the robustness of our platform.
Blockchain & Decentralization
Chirp is prioritizing blockchain enhancements to streamline operations and bolster security. A key development will be the automation of the start and end of Chirp Epochs, eliminating the potential for mismatches that could arise from manual operations. This automation is crucial for ensuring that our Epochs are closely integrated with Chirp Tokenomics, maintaining the integrity and efficiency of reward distributions. Furthermore, we are implementing an automated payout process, designed to ensure that miner rewards are distributed automatically at the end of each Epoch, reinforcing our commitment to timely, accurate and decentralized compensation for our network participants.
Security remains a paramount concern, and to this end, we are focusing on enhancing the security framework of our platform. This will involve rewriting certain smart contracts to improve their scalability and decentralization. Such adjustments are expected to significantly enhance the sustainability of our system’s security, making it more robust against potential threats and adaptable to the evolving demands of our network.
Miners and IoT devices
We aim to refine the user experience for those utilizing widely recognized devices such as Dragino and EMS door sensors, in addition to incorporating a broader array of devices like MClimate and Milesight sensors. A significant expansion is planned in the support for various GPS trackers, to cater to a wider user base. Automation scenarios will also be developed to deliver additional, valuable information to our customers based on specific events detected by these devices, enriching their interaction with our network.
Parallel to the focus on IoT devices, a considerable effort will be directed toward our miners. The testnet activities are designed to rigorously test miners with the objective of boosting their stability and reliability. We are dedicated to ensuring that payment calculations are precise and transparent, facilitating an open disclosure of all transaction details relevant to our ecosystem. Alongside these technical enhancements, security measures will be stringently prioritized to protect users interests, laying a solid foundation for a secure and reliable mainnet launch. These concerted efforts aim to not only enhance the performance and reliability of our miners and supported devices but also to ensure that our network remains secure and transparent, ready for the transition to the mainnet.
Participation in Chirp’s Testnet
An exciting aspect of Chirp’s testnet phase is the inclusive approach to user participation. Recognizing that not every enthusiast owns a miner, Chirp will create a comprehensive strategy to ensure everyone can be part of Chirp testnet. In the coming weeks, we will launch our Chirp Testnet NFT campaign, which will involve user interaction with NFTs across different layers, culminating in various perks as they ascend to higher-tier NFTs.
The first NFT in this campaign is the Embryo NFT, symbolizing the start of our testnet journey.
